Success only comes from Allah

It's a copy-paste article from Productive Muslim newsletter in my inbox.

Success only comes from Allah.

Assalamu’alaikum,

On this very day, over 1400H years ago, the great battle of Badr took place. We all know its story and how Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) granted victory to Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and his Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) on that day. But what lessons can we learn from this battle that is relevant to our productivity?

Here’s one lesson I picked up:

After the battle was won, Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) revealed the following verse: “And Allah has already made you victorious at badr, when you were a weak little force. So fear Allah much that you may be grateful”. (Surat Aal-Imran – Verse 123).

This was a reminder to the Muslims that any success or victory is from Allah and Allah alone. They shouldn’t be arrogant and forget the source of their success. Sometimes when you’re super productive and you achieve a great deal in a day, it’s easy to assume that your success comes from your skills or knowledge, but that’s not how a Muslim thinks. A Muslim firmly believes in the verse that “my success (in my task) can only come from Allah…” (Surat Hud, Verse 88)

Finally, please join me on this special day to make dua for our oppressed brothers and sisters in many parts of the world. They are having a difficult Ramadan and the least we can do is make dua for them. I ask Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala) with His Might and Power, the One Who granted His Prophet victory on the day of Badr to grant our brothers and sisters victory over their oppressors & all those who wrong them. Ameen. Ameen. Ameen.

p.s: I shared a few more lessons from this special day on ProductiveRamadan.com. Here's the link:

Sincerely,
Abu Productive

The end.

Success only comes from Allah.
May Allah grant me the best for my deen, my future and my akhirah.

Koran by Heart.

 assalamualaikum :)

here's a great video, created by non-Muslim (if i'm not mistaken) about Muslims.

here's the description ;
There are 1.6 billion Muslims in the world, many of whom grapple with the role religion should play in their lives, and the lives of their children. Each year during Ramadan, more than a hundred of the best young students from more than 70 countries across the Islamic world converge on Cairo for Egyptʼs International Holy Koran Competition, one of the Islamic worldʼs most prestigious contests. Some of the competitors are as young as seven, and several have memorized the entire 600-page Koran without actually speaking Arabic.

click play, and you'll be amazed.

Below I provide you with a so-called summary, but just for the first part.

***********************************************************************************

"My parents told me to learn the Koran before anything else
Every Muslim should learn Koran. I like the way the letters look. The way it's written and how my teacher teaches it."
Djamil , 10 years old
Senegal. West Africa

"You're going to represent Senegal and all of Africa at the Koran competition in Cairo. You'll be all by yourself. But you mustn't be scared. La takaf, wa la tahzan.Arab or not, Egyptian, Kuwait, whatever, everyone memorizes the same Koran. And you know the Koran. You've studied it, memorized it"
Djamil's teacher

"The Koran is the only book that can be completely memorized. It's a miracle - children can memorize it. Even without understanding the meaning. The irresponsible actions you see in some Muslims, are because they are estranged from the Koran, or don't understand the Koran. So stealing, sex outside the marriage, intoxication, injustice, aggression, and terrorism, these are not allowed. The Koran is not just a book of worship for us, it is a guide for life.
How do I meet my brother ? It's in the Koran.
How do i interact with you ? It's in the Koran.
How do I set a meeting ? It's in the Koran.
How do I apologize for a mistake ? It's in the Koran.
How to be tolerant ? It's in the Koran."
Dr. Salem Abdel-Galil, Deputy Minister,
Ministry Of Religious Affairs Cairo, Egypt.
